Docaviv: 25th edition

Docaviv is Israel’s leading documentary film festival. And its 25th edition starts the screenings from May 11th.
The opening film - The Child Within Me by Eti Aneta and Yaniv Amoday - full of humour story about the Israeli musician Yehuda Poliker. It is part of the Music program, which also includes films such as Love to Love You, Donna Summer, by Roger Ross Williams and Summer’s daughter Brooklyn Sudano, Joan Baez I Am A Noise by Karen O’Connor, Miri Navasky, and Maeve O’Boyle, and Little Richard: I Am Everything by Lisa Cortes.
Speaking about humor: at the special screening the audience will have a chance to see A Bunch of amateurs by Kim Hopkins. «Bradford Movie Makers» is one of the oldest amateur filmmaking clubs in the world. They had vision and talent too, but no funding to speak of. And so the Bradford Movie Makers, the members of a filmmaking club in Northern England, would meet regularly for tea and biscuits, and make ambitious zero-budget films that nobody ever watched but them. The old club, founded in 1932, is now teetering on the brink of survival after years of missed rent payments. Docaviv’s International Competition features 11 titles from around the world. It includes 20 Days In Mariupol, Apolonia, Apolonia, Matter Out of Place, The Eternal Memory by Maite Alberdi. The programme is really impressive.
In Israeli competition among others there are such titles as 1948 -Remember/Remember not, Innocence, Nora, Observation diary.
Also there are programms Masters, Student competitions, Short films competition, Art & Culture, Panorama, Depth of field competition.
