Wes Anderson is adored by spectators. We just love him for unpredictable humor and virtuosity. «Asteroid City» - the new comedy from Wes Anderson - is absolutely entertaining and intelligent as well – and as always. The all-star ensemble cast: Jason Schwartzman and Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks, and other beloved personalities. «Asteroid City» is a purely eccentric film.

1950s. US desert town called Asteroid City, named so because 3,000 years ago this was the site of a meteorite landing. It is now the location for a US government observatory, but it is also the place for annual convention of teen inventors of the best high-school science projects. Aren't we are in a hidden puppet town? Atom bomb tests. The lockdown. The hilarious characters in the hilarious circumstances. Everyone plays the lines with absolute seriousness. But –surprise/surprise! - what we are seeing is a stage play. Somnambulistic reflection of reality, no less insane than the reality itself. The miracles. It's absolutely stylish.
